Digestive support for people who are intolerant to food containing FODMAPs fructose and fructans.

Fructans (also known as fructo-oligosaccharides) are commonly associated with digestive distress, associated with these compounds fermenting in the intestines. Fructans are on the “avoid” list when following a low FODMAP diet as part of a symptom-relief strategy for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Fructans are found in a range of common food items, including wheat, onions, garlic, asparagus, beans (legumes), watermelon and many other foods and are difficult to avoid completely. Fructose malabsorption occurs when the small intestine has a reduced capacity to absorb the fructose consumed in food. This results in discomfort and pain after eating foods high in fructose. There is a staggering number of foods that contain fructose (read more here), and for those who have trouble processing fructose, this becomes the primary cause of digestive complaints, and may be a risk factor for developing bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine (aka SIBO).You can determine if your digestive issues are due to fructose malabsorption by taking a simple breath test here.

The enzyme in FrucMal Ease is Xylose isomerase, which converts fructose to glucose.

Taking 1-3 capsules with cold water immediately before, during or directly after consuming food or drinks containing fructans, fructose, high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) or sucrose. When consuming such foods over an extended period (e.g., longer than 30-45 mins), repeat dosages may be required (1 – 3 caps).The enzyme remains active in your stomach for up to 45 min.

Do not exceed 15 capsules per day.
