Benzoin helps soften and moisturise dry, chapped and hard skin. It can help to form a protective layer on the skin’s surface. Also supportive to the respiratory and urinary systems.

Blends well with many other skin oils, including lavender and rose

Use in inhalations, creams, ointments, and massage blends. Revered as a base note stabiliser in creams and personal perfume blends.

Part of Plant: Tree resin (and cold pressed castor seed oil)

Chemical Constituents – Coniferyl benzoate, benzoic acid, benzyl benzoate

NOTE: Extraction Method – Resin is released from the tree when the bark is incised. Pure Benzoin is a solid resin at room temperature therefore it is gently heated and combined with Castor Seed Oil (Ricinus communis) to render it more mobile in a concentration of 1:4. This is a much nicer and much more natural alternative to the commonly available mixture with propylene glycol.

A note about Castor seed oil: Castor oil helps to lock in moisture, protect the skin and prevent damage by the elements and environmental toxins. The Romans used this oil to fade age spots, moles and blemishes, so is excellent in skin care.
