Pogostemon patchouli (syn P.cablin) 100% pure organic steam distilled essential oil, produced in Sumatra.
Patchouli oil is produced by a fermentation process of the leaves, followed by steam distillation.
The quintessential aroma of the 60s and 70s, patchouli is a deep and earthy aroma that lingers for days.
It’s aroma is one of the few that improves with time.
Research has found that inhalation of patchouli can reduce the levels of stress markers in the bloodstream! Get a synergistic effect by adding to rose and/or lavender oil. Also good for dry, cracked skin – may help to regulate oily skin and acne and can be beneficial or eczema, psoriasis and dandruff.
Reputed to have aphrodisiacal effects, patchouli is a great fixative to add to blends to help their aroma persist longer.
For massage or a personal blend, a very small amount is all you need, mixed with a carrier oil such as jojoba oil. Fabulous for inhalation, in the bath or burner or included in a massage blend to help ground and calm.
Also suitable for use in creams, ointments and compresses.
