Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis) is a small shrub that is endemic to North America. The fruit is not a nut, and the expressed “oil” is technically a wax, more similar in structure to whale oil than other plant-derived oils. Jojoba oil is an excellent choice if you have a nut allergy.
