Christmas comes but once a year. Time to get the festive vibes going and the kitchen humming! There is nothing more satisfying and festive than making your own gifts for friends and family. It really helps you get in a ‘Christmassy’ mood as well!

Italian Seasoning

This blend of herbs and spices is the perfect way to add extra flavour to barbecue meat or vegetable dishes as a rub or in a marinade or add to to summery pasta sauces. Add it to your homemade pizzas as well! Ingredients Choose from a combination of:

  • 4 tablespoons dried basil
  • 4 tablespoons dried oregano
  • 2 tablespoons dried rosemary
  • 6 tablespoons dried parsley
  • 2 tablespoons dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoons red chili flakes
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Combine all of your ingredients in your Omniblend (best in the 2.0L or 1.5L B-jar) and PULSE to mince it all up together. Store in a glass jar or other airtight container. Don’t forget to add a label!

Gingerbread Nut Butter

This recipe includes the winning combination of cinnamon, ginger and vanilla, added to a nut butter. Imagine opening a jar of this up on Christmas day and having some with your morning oats or on fruit toast for the duration of the holidays. Yum! The recipe includes the option of adding a chocolate swirl, so could be a dessert treat as well. You decide!

Blend together:

Pop all ingredients in your Omniblend and use Pulse to blend together. Package into airtight containers. To use: dampen the skin and take a small amount of the scrub. Use a gentle circular motion to exfoliate. Rinse with fresh water and follow with a rosewater or orange flower water spritz. Truly indulgent!

Homemade Play Dough

Play dough is great way to encourage creativity, curiosity and the use of imagination in kids! And did you know that it can have a calming and therapeutic effect on kids as well?

  • 2 cups (480 ml) warm water
  • 2 cups (310 g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • ½ cup (145 g) salt
  • Optional: food colouring

Place all ingredients into your Omniblend Start on LOW and gradually increase speed and blend until smooth. Blend for 2 minutes. Scoop out immediately as it thickens pretty quickly!

You could also add a few drops of essential oil – the choice is yours, but we recommend lemon, orange, peppermint or lime essential oil for added extra sensory experience for the little ones!
